Plex DVR WinTV-HVR-2210 On Remote Server

Hi Guys,

I have seen that the recent update has added support for Hauppage HVR-22XX cards, my Plex server runs on freenas and my PCI-e card is inside my HTPC within my local network. Is my configuration supported? When I try to add a card it mentions you can specify an IP manually but I can’t help but wonder if this is only for the network tuner devices such as the HDHomeRun.

So, given that my Plex can’t find anything when I try to setup my Plex DVR is this because the PCI-e cards must be local?

Pretty positive the PCI-e card needs to be in the computer that Plex is running on in order to find it.

Currently the card needs to be in the computer running plex (remote usb might be possible with usbip). When SAT>IP support is added to Plex you will be able to turn any tuner supported by v4l-dvb in to network tuner using minisatip!

Thanks guys. Thought so but couldn’t find any assistance with documentation. Bit of a gap I feel with it being a relatively new and growing feature set.
