Plex DVR with DVB-S input

I’ve been searching but can’t find a conclusive answer.

I’ve seen the new version of Plex Server which supports HDHomeRun devices and looks to be working great. I know HDHR don’t have and DVB-S devices but I’m wondering will any other IPTV or SATP-IP device work with Plex DVR.

It would be great if I could seamlessly integrate DVB-S content into plex with DVR functions.

I’ve seen other ways of doing this such as Kodi front end or unsupported channels but I want something better.

Is there any way of doing this or any plans to make it happen??

Anyone know if HDHR will support DVB-S in the near future.

Is there any new news on this? I know Emby supports multiple TV tuners incl TVHeadend and DVBLink. I would love to see that Plex supports it.

I’m hoping for a positive outcome for this. Currently I’m ripping my entire library onto a NAS which will be about 5TB compressed so I’m looking at PLEX to manage it. It would be perfect if it also integrated TV as well but we live in a poor terrestrial signal area so satellite is the only way to go. I was going to buy a DVB-S card and hope that worked fine (similar to Kodi) but from what I read above, its not as simple as that. Hopefully the powers that be at Plex have a workaround?

Also, is it possible to have integrated web based channels like BT Sport in the UK. I have a subscription to that but can only watch it through web browser. It would be amazing if that could some day be integrated into Plex along with other subscription based services.

I think sat>ip devices should be very well positioned to be the next ones included in the PlexDVR because they don’t need any kind of drivers to be managed.

I hope people from Plex can give the step ahead with this kind of devices.

Sat-IP would be amazing. This would allow me to Integrade my DVBViewer Recording Service into Plex. The last missing Part of my Home Media System wich does not run in Plex. This would move me to buy a Plex Pass.

agree Sat-IP would be great! come on Plex :slight_smile:

I have a HD homerun at the moment … OTA isn’t great in my area but got it to try the DVR … seems to work well but I can’t get HD due to poor reception

With FreeSat having more choice (and more HD channels) supporting Sat>IP would be amazingly useful and it being an open standard you should be able to add multiple hardware devices in one swoop.
