This is one of my favorite features of Plex that works great on Roku and IOS devices, but currently on Fire TV it does not have the depth of showing the season extras (unless you put that in Season 0). With the new plex experience preview, will this feature be adopted to the Fire TV?
Yes; local extras of all tiers are available on the tvOS experience preview app (show, season and episode level extras).
Thanks Tom. I guess what I am asking is will that be the same when Plex gets around to adopting the Plex Experience Preview to the Fire TV.
From what I’ve understood, Plex is aiming to consolidate the user experience, e.g. same experience across mobile platforms (iOS/Android mobile), big screen (Apple TV, smart tv, Android TV).
I’m sure there’ll be some deviations on the technical level (e.g. how a feature is implemented or if a platform simply doesn’t allow certain features → like Roku not allowing deep links to open a Movie page in a streaming app from Plex‘s Discover). But the general UI / navigation / … should be the same.
I suppose that’s going to be true for features like displaying local extras on all tiers of a show.
We‘ll only know for sure when Plex release the preview app on those other platforms.
