Server Version#: v1.30.2.6563-3d4dc0cce
I ran into problems that plex won’t launch and decided to do a full re-install, which proved to be the beginning of a nightmare. I am running the latest version of Windows 10 on a HTPC with Core i3-10100.
To begin with, I followed this artivle and completely uninstalled the old plex server, deleted the folder, and cleared the redistry. After that, I downloaded the newest version of plex server from the official website and installation appears just fine.
However, there’s no page turning up after the installation is complete. If I choose open plex from the tray it just gives a blank page which circles forever. I checked the log files and it gives a great bunch of HTTP 408 error. I thought that might be a problem with the VPN I am using (Cisco Anyconnect from my school), so I turned that off. This time I am able to enter a setup page, but after clicking the “set up” button it started circling again and eventually gives a message saying “Plex Media Server Core Components Malfunctioning [translated from Chinese]” and asked me to upload logs to the forum.
I have tried restarting the server, restarting the OS, and reinstalling the server. I actually completely reinstalled my Windows. Only the problem persists. It also doesn’t looks like a connection problem to me: I was able to do it without and trouble last summer, on a similar rig.
Here’s the logs:
