Make sure the file is saved to your desktop as nsmb.conf. Then click Go → Go to folder. Enter ‘/etc/’ without the quotes. Drag and drop the conf file into that folder, it will ask you for admin approval. Confirm the file saved in that folder, then reboot. Adjust your network paths to connect over SMB.
