This issue is very simple, the plex dekstop app used to run perfectly, now whenever i try to start it it spits out the following

Anyone else having the same issues?
This is my system
Unfortunately, I’m also experiencing a similar issue after updating it…
Despite mine being the HTPC version that I have an issue, as I haven’t tried the Desktop version.

I am fairly certain this has nothing todo with keyboards, since it worked just fine with my ukraninan keyboard in the past, If you read the output it speaks about graphics drivers, and we both use AMD.
So i assume after a amdgpu or amd open source driver update it broke
Since samip5 and you don’t have the exact same terminal output before the segfault, and considering that this issue is not reproducible on similar hardware, good luck with that.
So I had this exact issue on a new install of Fedora 39/KDE. On X11 I would get crashes and nearly the same output as XaetaCore (posted below). I’m already on a US keyboard layout. Switching to a wayland session managed to get it to open but it has the same issues that make me not want to use the web app i.e. extremely laggy response, stuttering image in playback. This isnt an issue when viewing in the NVIDIA shield app. The media server is running on the same device I am trying to playback on if that matters.

The Desktop OpenGL is end of life. Plex is allowing all desktop applications to end of life as they spin down operations for Plex Pass users. They are migrating to some weird social media platform thing and allowing all of their player apps end of life. We are at the point that either the open source community takes back responsibility for the players or we have to migrate platforms.
As long as Direct play remains possible i don’t mind using a browser to watch my stuff, The only reason i use the app on Linux is so i can use Direct play to skip transcoding for media that is too high quality for transcoding(Dolby Vision/HDR/4K)
