So I am having problems trying to play DoVi files with HDR10+ fallback. In the newest version 9 release of the Plex Android TV app, DoVi played normally. Now in version 10 beta it does not use the DoVi profile and says it is using the HRD10+ profile, however the HDR also looks completely off and not correct. I tested it with version 9 vs 10 and on version 9 it all works fine.
I am using the Android TV app on a Philips OLED937. (I am not sure if it already started in 10.0.0.3923-beta). I am assuming the feature “Player: strip DoVi metadata if profile is not supported.” is being wrongly used but my TV does support it as it plays normally in the newest stable. I do not want the app to go stable like this or I will be forced to sideload an old version.
The file has this HDR format:
Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.07, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2094 App 4, Version 1, HDR10+ Profile B compatible
