Plex for android crashes on startup

Hi. I recently switched phones. I didn’t have a problem with the new Plex player on android until now. Both phones were running the latest version of Android 16.
When I launch the app, I see the logo moving for about .5 seconds then it crashes. No issue with Plexamp or Plex Dash.
I had to sideload an old version of Plex to get it to work. Tried deleting cache and reinstalling of course. Even tried to sideload a 1 month old version, still had the same problem.

I am having the same issue on my Wife’s phone. Switched her from a Pixel 6 to a Pixel 8, and Plex just crashes after opening. I used the Android restore from another phone option when setting up the Pixel 8.

I tried sideloading, but none of those worked either.

Same thing. I think it’s an issue with the restore from another phone. Ended up screwing up my SIM card (might be unrelated).
What I ended up doing, reset my Pixel 8 to factory defaults and configure the phone from a backup. It installed Plex and all worked well after that.

I’m trying to avoid having to factory reset. Just spent the day setting my phone up
