For the last couple of days, I haven’t been able to change the subtitles on Plex for Android TV. I have multiple external .srt files for some of my content and it always plays just one language, regardless of which one is selected. So I can see all of the subtitles and I can switch between them, but the player always uses the first ones in the list.
This issue affects all of my media (old and new) with multiple subtitles.
This issue doesn’t affect the OpenSubtitles downloaded via the player.
This issue doesn’t happen in the web browser version of Plex or on Plex for iOS.
I only noticed this issue this week. And I’m sure this worked last Saturday (April 2nd 2022).
I’ve tried clearing data and cache, reinstalling the app (while clearing the data and cache), and logging in and out.
I compare server logs between playing content from my Mi Box S (which has this issue) and from my iPhone (which doesn’t). But I couldn’t spot any differences (except for Subtitle Stream numbers). Just in case, here are the logs when attempting to play media with multiple subtitles from my Mi Box S:
