Correct! Well spotted! ![]()
Issue is fixed when sign in automatically is activated ![]()
Just to make sure I understand it correctly:
- You downgraded to 10.4.0
- Enabled âSign in automaticallyâ
- Upgraded to 10.6.0
- It no longer crashes on startup with 10.6.0?
I only ever tried 10.6.
In 10.6, when I have the auto login enabled, everything works as expected.
With auto login disabled, the app crashes on startup several times and eventually opens up. Then if you close it, it will crash again the next time you try to open it.
I saw this on multiple Android devices, with different android versions and with different Plex accounts.
Ahh, I missed the fact it opens up eventually. Thanks for the report and details.
+1 I am getting this on my s21 ultra. App opens, shows Plex splash screen, then closes repeatedly. Sign in automatically seems to have fixed it for now.
Is anyone able to test if this is fixed in the latest beta build 10.7.0.5359? Either by joining the beta or downloading the apk and sideloading from Release Announcements - Android TV beta - #663 by PlexAndroidReleaser.
Still the same when âsign in automaticallyâ is not activated⊠![]()
Are you able to grab logs from the device and DM them to me? I know you have already provided logs, but weâve added some more to diagnose the problem. If you can also screen record the session that would be even better.
- Disable âsign in automaticallyâ.
- Kill the app by dismissing it from recents.
- Open it until it finally doesnât crash. (make sure it does close a couple of times so we can get some repeated data).
- Grab the logs.
This issue is very difficult to diagnose as we canât reproduce and we donât really see any issue thatâs started spiking in 10.5.0 in our crash reporting services, so we really appreciate your help
.

The fix has been deployed to Google Play and will be available as version 10.7.0.5386. Thanks for help in testing and all the information that helped us narrow down the cause!
