I'm really sorry about the last version, it appear that some servers are reporting their versions in a slightly different format, resulting in issue when comparing against the "minimum" allowed.

An experimental release for the brave PlexPass holders who are looking for something fun to play with this weekend.

Please test manual connections, server connectivity, remote control, and other areas listed below.

NEW:

  • New Remote Control (selecting on Play On notifications will also open it)
  • New filter for “Recently Viewed” TV Shows
  • Mobile device profile now supports WebM (VP8/Vorbis) for direct playing.
  • Support for two manual connections (IP/port) in advanced settings.

FIXES:

  • Re-use existing Play On notifications instead of creating new instances
  • Resolve issue allowing multiple Play On notifications to control players simultaneously
  • Fix issue with watched status not updating
  • Better handling of audio playlist when last track ends
  • Better error reporting if problems communicating with myPlex
  • When servers go away, make sure we remove their data on the home screen.
  • Make sure myPlex and GDM-found servers are removed when logging out/disabling discovery after a refresh.
  • [Sync] Fix issue with movie/episodes displaying bitrate instead of quality

  • 'Trickplay' when seeking (requires PMS v0.9.8.0+ and the media index files generated)
  • Allow jumping to library sections quickly via the ActionBar
  • Allow local subtitles to be used even when video is transcoded, to reduce server CPU load (requires PMS v0.9.7.28+)
  • Allow "Play On" for individual tracks
  • Added "External Player" device media profile

I'm excited to announce v3.1 of the Android application. Ok, so I didn't 'announce' it first, Elan did in his blog (here). This has been in development for quite a while, but hopefully you'll agree is a massive improvement for Google TV users and other connected TV devices. The release also includes a few other tweaks, so please let us know what you think!

- New TV optimised layout (not enabled by default, but available via Settings - Application Layout)
- New (faster) image loading pipeline

FIXES:
- Fixed issue when resuming large sync content

Sorry for the lack of releases lately. We've got some pretty big features in the pipeline which are just taking a little longer to get ready for the masses. This release just includes some of the bug fixes which have been resolved in the mean time...

Things might appear a little quiet on the Android front, but I promise you that we're working hard behind the scenes to bring you some pretty big changes. However, there was a number of fixes that we were keen to get out as soon as they were ready. So here you are...
