First of all, you do realize that PMP is not a final product, right? It is in “preview” right now, so you shouldn’t even be expecting perfection. Stick with PHT or OpenPHT if you don’t want major issues.
What do you mean when PMP was released they said it had been redesigned from top to bottom and that PHT was obsolete and would have no further updates as it was over

They’ve already said it’s a server side issue that is going to be fixed. You will just have to wait until that happens. Also the amount of money you’ve spent on your equipment make zero difference to how Plex should work so I don’t even understand why you’ve brought that up.
I dont know if this same issue but i have been battling with my Qnap 871… I got latest PMS (Plex Pass) and i have tried OpentPHT, PHT and PHP and all of them show track correct (etc. aac5.1, aac7.1, dd5.1) but output thru HDMI is only stereo.
I have tried all possible audiooutput (pulseaudio, Directoutput, fixe 44.1, etc…) but nothing seems to help. I also thought that its reveiver problem so I bought Denon X4200W but same problem…
Have you installed PMP flex media player if not do that
all my metadata thumbnails are showing only DTS 2.0 channel stereo even though the files contain DTS-HD MA 5.1/7.1
and it was plying back over HDMI through a pioneer AV receiver
Try ticking the box in Audio configuration Exclusive and any other appropriate boxes dts-hd etc now try
If you google mac 5.1 you’ll find lots of threads about your problem
Because i invested so much to make things perfect to be let down by one app and there doesn’t seem to be any hurry to fix the problem i guess you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket

Well that’s how the world works I’m afraid. Try unmatching some media then rematching / moving to another location and see if it still does it with a rescan.

The issue has already been acknowledged and is being looked into.
Thanks for input have given up on Plex i my opinion they are trying to do to much on to many different platforms perhaps a look in 6 months things may have been sorted
