Plex for iOS cannot cast to Plex HTPC for Mac

Player Version#: iOS: 8.29 - HTPC for Mac: 1.32.8.7639

Both machines are on the same network, there are no VPNs, the Mac has no Firewall, both apps can clearly stream from the server.

Plex for HTPC on the Mac is never advertised as a player for the iOS app to control.

Plex for AppleTV running on an ATV 4k on the same network is properly advertised on the phone.

I have turned off-on wifi / devices in multiple combinations, no dice. Any hints?
