Plex IOS cannot connect to Plex-HTPC device

I am attempting to connect to my Plex-HTPC app from an IOS Ipad. I AM able to connect to the Plex-HTPC app from a windows Plex app, but Plex-HTPC does not show up on the Ipad Plex app as an option.

Is this a reportable bug, an unimplemented feature or something in between?

All three devices need to be in the same local network. Plex HTPC, your phone, and a Plex server.
I assume you are missing the latter.

They all have 192.168.2xx.xxx addresses and are within 20 feet of one another. I infer from your response that the ipad should be able to select the plex-htpc app. My windows boxes do not have their firewalls enabled, but I cant say on IOS - perhaps a security feature of IOS blocking? My IOS client does see two firesticks running plex as options

It should work. But I cannot test it myself, as I don’t have any fruity hardware.

I have found that it makes remote control more reliable if you disable the power saving of the network adapter on both the server and the remote-controlled client.
