Plex for LG - "Error code: h3 (decode)"

Good morning Dear Community.

I’m having problems with my WD PR4100 NAS Plex Media Server playing all my FLAC files (hundreds!) that were riped from my SACDs (Stereo or Multichannel) through the Plex Media Client for LG installed on my LG OLED55C7V TV.

This problem does NOT occur if I try to play the same files through a Windows Plex Media Server installed in a common PC.

Through the PR4100 Plex Media Server (and just through the PR4100 Plex Media Server), I keep getting this message on my TV:

“Error code: h3 (decode)”.

Through the Plex Media Server from my Windows PC, I don’t get any error code message and the same files are correctly decode and playing normally without any issue.

More info:

  1. Plex for LG audio options seems not to be the problem (I’ve tryed enabled/disabled all options and I’ve got the same message).

  2. I had unistall and install PR4100 Plex libraries and Plex Media Server itself several times.

  3. I had factory reset the PR4100 device several times.

  4. The PR4100 is directly connected to the router.

  5. I have a 400Mbps connection and the 2 back leds of the NAS are green.

I appreciate your help very much because I’m going “a little” crazy trying to solve this issue without any positive results.

Hey @paflourenco, I’ve seen instances where PMS on my NAS fails to correctly identify the Plex for LG client and applies a generic “HTML TV App” client profile. The client profile tells PMS what the capabilities of the requesting Plex client are, like what codecs, resolutions and containers it can handle.

It could be that your NAS is doing this, while your Windows PMS installation is correctly identifying the client. Have a look in the logs for both the Windows and NAS PMS installations when you’re trying to play back these FLAC files and see if you can figure it out. Something like “unable to find client profile for device” is what I’ve seen.

This obviously isn’t going to fix your problem, but it could help the mods out by supplying a bit more information.
