Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#: 1.80.3
Updated my Plex desktop app and the server. Now the Mac player app 1.80.3 does not respond to any mouse clicks in any of the menus in its window. I can type a show name to search, and the show comes up (e.g. Heartbeat, which is available on Plex streaming) but clicking it or the yellow Play triangle or the 3-dots does nothing.
I just went back and started Plex (desktop) again, and it shows an empty window, ‘Home’ on the left, and spinning in center.
I’ve uninstalled Plex and its Application Support folder ‘Plex’ and then reinstalled (twice), all to no avail. The web interface works fine for streaming and for viewing my own files on Plex Server, so it’s an issue with the desktop player app.
Sorry for the delay in response. I have not been able to reproduce this issue. Since your initial post both the Desktop app and it looks like MacOS have newer versions available. Are you still observing this issue? If so can you please provide fresh logs?
After this issue, I began using the Plex player in-browser interface, which worked fine. In response to your post @Atomatth, I downloaded 1.85.0.4071-21128b56 and it works fine with my Apple Magic Trackpad (latest black-topped model).
The Plex desktop app is unable to receive clicks from a Wacom Intuos Pro S pen-tablet. Despite its “pro” status and pricetag, Wacom’s Intuos Pro is known to be “jiggly” when clicking in many applications (often a second stylus tap is needed to click). Notably however, Plex desktop app does not receive ANY clicks from Intuos Pro. Not even the top left Home icon responds to repeated stylus clicks (a single tap on the Magic Trackpad immediately sends the user home).
Workaround: move mouse with Intuos stylus and tap Apple Magic Trackpad to click. Result: 100% success rate.
We’ve had reported issues with Wacom tablets before, see here. Basically Wacom and electron apps may not play well together. Sounds like it’s working with at least your trackpad.
