Hi

what is the difference between Plex for Mac and Plex Home Theater for Mac. Are there benefits? Plex for Mac doesn’t work for me, neither does Plex for Windows, but PLEX HTPC works.

They’re designed for different use cases.

  • Plex for Mac is a regular desktop app, designed to be used by mouse and keyboard. The app supports downloading media to watch it while off the grid
  • Plex HTPC is designed to be used “on the big screen”; e.g. if your computer is connected through HDMI to your TV; the app is optimized to be used with a remote

Any details as for how the Plex for Mac/Windows/Linux app doesn’t work for you?
