Plex for Roku: Missing screensavers including Power Saver on TCL Roku TV

Recently my TCL Roku TV had the plex app updated. I now share the pain of the awful UI that many people are complaining about. My issue is the previous version of Plex “honored” the system screen saver. On the TCL Roku TV, this was set to “Power Saver”. It was nice, like setting a timer inside plex to turn off the tv after a certain amount of time.

With the new update, I go into settings in plex, and listed in screensaver is “Plex”, “Black”, and “Disabled”. Just to add, disabled does not disable plex screensaver and default back to system screensaver - man that would have been nice. It disables screensaver completely and tv never goes off. Had it on for over an hour with no change.

I’m putting under Feature Suggestions because it looks like this may need to be a feature update. All I would want is to just use the default Roku Screen savers. Even having options that i use on the platform would be ease the transition

Plex for Roku version: 6.1.1.5282-4907f3688-Plex

I have same problem. Would be nice for a default setting to use system default screen saver.

Folks are complaining about missing their picture screen saver too. why would plex put an update out that takes away features they’ve had for a long time?

The same issue is happening on the Roku Ultra (the standalone box, not the TV set). Several versions ago, I could set the screensaver to display the time instead of the Plex Logo or other media information. I would like to have the choice to use any screensaver available on the Roku. If you want to add others, that’s fine, but please allow me to use others!

It’s now April 2020, and Plex still refuses to allow the Roku screen saver or any other screen saver, except for their cheap Plex logo. Plex developers, you would have an easier time getting people to pay for subscriptions if you actually include features people want. A screensaver should be a no brainer.
