PLEX for Roku TV Crashing after ~30mins viewing

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10492
Player Version#: 9.3.14.11096-b6114083c-Plex
Roku TV Version#: 15.1.4 build 11400

I have a Pioneer Model PN40-R651-26U that runs on Roku TV. After approximately 30mins of playing content PLEX crashes and exits to the Roku home screen. I tried disabling “Direct Play” and then “Direct Stream” with no change. The streams were originally limited to 12Mbit 1080p. Bandwidth doesn’t seem to be the problem, other clients (iPad, iPhone, RokuTV 4k stick, Roku3 set-top) all on the same network have no issues. The TV was just setup this week and has a fresh install of everything. Dialing down the resolution to 720p 4Mbit is a functional workaround. One movie has been successfully watched without crashing…but this is pretty disappointing. I purchased the TV for their birthday and now they are having to dial-down the resolution on a brand-new setup.

I also see that no matter what the settings on the client, the server is always transcoding to EAC3 audio. Changing the Roku TV app’s audio settings from “Auto” to “internal speakers” and “stereo” have no effect. The server is always converting from whatever (DTS 5.1, etc) to EAC3 even though there is only stereo output on the client. Not sure if that matters but it is entirely unique amongst all my clients.

I would like to get this client working at 20mbit 1080p. Any advice welcome.

Please do the following;

  1. Confirm server DEBUG logging is enabled, VERBOSE logging is disabled.
    SAVE if changes.
  2. Restart PMS
  3. Enable Roku logging
  4. Give it two minutes to start and stabilize
  5. Start a playback which shows the issue
  6. Let it play until it crashes
  7. Download the server logs
  8. Follow the instructions to capture the Roku logs
  9. Attach the logs so I may see them.

Thank you @Atomatth, I will have them run a remote logging session and PM you details as soon as it crashes out.
