Plex for Vidaa (Hisense) shuttering/lagging

Server Version#: 1.30.0.6486
Player Version#: 5.52.3 (Plex for VIDAA)

The plex application for Vidaa seems to lack of optimization. A query on the forum reveals that various users are facing this “lagging” issue (@d0d0 for the latest post). And it is not related to the network https://forums.plex.tv/search?context=tag&context_id=hisense&q=lagging%20tags%3Ahisense&skip_context=true

As explained by other people in other topics, I have tried various configuration and here are the tests that made me think it is a play app for vidaa issue.

The server is always connected to box by Ethernet, and I’m playing same film.

  1. Suspect is the network:
  • try wifi 2.4ghz
  • try wifi 5ghz
  • try ethernet
  • disable ipv6
  • network test show 3ms ping with 100M/s which is more than enough for streaming.
    => Fps drop issue/loading still present.
  1. The suspect is the server:
  • use the server with multiple other plex player in the same house with same network.
    => no issue
  1. The suspect is on the TV. And this test lets me say the issue is the plex for vidaa optimization:
  • It turns out that my TV has a browser integrated. Thus, I navigated to the web interface of the plex server with the browser, and start the film with NO ISSUE. I then exit and start the plex app for vidaa and the film was shuttering/lagging again.

Currently, a really ugly workaround for me is using the integrated browser, but I hope some optimization will be done on the plex vivaa app in order to have a normal use.

That’s really sad. I mean Plex is just liking their balls when their app have issue and the best part is that they call it no issue there…
