Plex for Vizio Constantly restarts content instead of resuming

Hello, I have a Plex media server at home running on Ubuntu 18.04.
I am loving it so far, but when I use the Plex for Vizio application, every time I press the resume button, it starts loading with the progress bar where I left it, then it snaps back to the very beginning.
I use Plex on all of my devices (laptop, phone, and even my Raspberry Pi) and the Vizio app is the only one that acts this way.
I originally thought that this happened because I was not a Plex Pass user, but now that I finally subscribed to it I am disappointed that this still happens.

I have the same issue. It’s frustrating to have to remember the timestamp as it starts to load and then fast forward to that time when it restarts.

I’ve been on Plex for Vizio v 3.13.13 forever. I can browse my media but I am unable to play anything on it. From some of the other threads I’ve seen here it doesn’t look like it’s actually updated anymore. I hope I’m wrong. Currently i cast from my Android phone to my chromecast on my vizio and it works perfectly.

The Chromecast feature works a lot better than the built in application. The quality of the Chromecast application is also a LOT better. And since my TV is getting older, it loads the application super slow.
TL:DR
If you have a Chromecast and a compatible device, USE IT. It doesn’t look like this problem is going to be fixed for a while, this issue dates back to like 2017 and nothing has been done about it.
