Plex For Windows Movie Collections Broken

Plex for Windows is no longer displaying Movie Collections. It hasn’t for some time now. I’ve uinstalled the app and removed a remnants and reinstalled it, and still it will not display the movie collections. They display everywhere else (browser, iOS) but not on Windows version.

Wont display the collections tab? Won’t display inline under the library tab?

The tab actually appears. But when i go to the collections tab, it just shows the movies. There are no collections. It appears just like the movies tab.

  • Go to settings ( top right gear icon)
  • Under Plex for Windows on left it should land on the “General” settings
  • Hit Show Advanced on the right side of that page
  • You should now see a “Debug” settings area on the left in the Plex for Windows area (two down from “General”)
  • On the bottom of the Debug settings hit the red “Restore Defaults” button.

It will then go through the wizard to ask what libraries you want pinned to side bar and will fix that issue. ( it will not reset any of your server settings this only affects the app )
