Just started having this issue with Plex For Windows after upgrading my NVidia 2080 Super to a Radeon RX6800XT. It feels to me that this might be a contributing factor to the debacle. When I start a video it repeats the first second over and over (the buffer bar grows rapidly) and then it all resets and plays the first second and fills the buffer again. I started to simply use Chrome as a plex app, but I would like to return to the windows app if possible.
Still having problems here. There was one update before the latest (latest being 1.39.1) that seemed to resolve the problem for me, but now the UI is back to being a laggy complete mess.
I did a fresh install of plex and it’s still doing it. The UI is totally fine if theres no video playing. I can navigate without any problems. The moment I start playing something though, the UI is dogshit slow. I’ve tried all the various suggestions, turning on “fixed refresh” in nvidia settings, I’ve turned off/on gsync, I’ve set my refresh rate of the monitor itself manually to just 60hz, nothing works.
Specs are 5900x, 32GB of memory, RTX 3080.
The web version of plex is flawless, aside from not being able to actually play some content because of codecs.
still having the slowness here, playback is fine, but the ui is crazy slow while the video is playing, not really useable, have to pause the video, then click around.
plex media player plays fine, no lag whatsoever,
