Plex for Xbox One unable to connect to server (1.3.1)

I don’t see any “Settings” option at all. Only “Manage App” which only gives me the option to uninstall it

The settings menu popups when you are inside of the app (with this error when you get to the screen that says it cannot connect to your server/cannot find servers).

I believe when you’re seeing Manage App you’re at the Home screen in the Xbox and not inside the app itself.

Ahh! In that case, I’m screwed because I can never get to the point where I can see anything else. I launch Plex, get the spinning circle and thats all she wrote. Good thing I still have my Roku.

Sorry, the Dev’s are aware of that issue and are working with Microsoft to try and get it resolved/find some other way to workaround it.

Currently, the only workaround for that issue is to create a new user on the xbox and try and launch the plex app.

As things get updated with the developers they have been updating this thread:
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/196695/workarounds-for-app-not-starting-loading-past-splash-screen-version-1-3-1#latest

This worked for me and I was wondering what the difference could be. On my server under network I have secure connections set to preferred. I also have my local network and subnet set under “List of networks that are allowed without auth”. Anyone else doing it this way?

What do we do if the work around doesn’t work??? Tried all 4 xbox profiles and nothing works. This is typical plex lately, break more on updates than they actually fix.

Nothing you can do but to wait for a new release which fixes the issue if all the workarounds are not working for you.

Which issue are you having? Creating a new profile does not change the security setting (It defaults to the same value with new accounts) that is the issue in this topic. If you’re getting to an error message about unable to connect/unable to find your server then you can try the methods in this thread which involve changing the settings to allow unsecure connections on the local network.

Is there anything new to report on this? I can’t believe this hasn’t been fixed yet.

The fix to the ‘stuck at loading’ issue is in the release process and should arrive on Tuesday. More details here - https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1081279/#Comment_1081279
