Hi,
I’m running the Plex app on my iPad Pro M4 and I’m getting freezing where the entire iPad becomes unresponsive, the screen freezes, but the audio continues. I cannot force quit the app, nor does the power button have any effect. After a little while, maybe 10-20 seconds, the iPad will start responding again and then I can exit Plex. I am playing 4k hdr mkv files on my Synology NAS using direct playback with no transcoding.
I have exactly the same problem with the iPad pro M4, with the latest iOS version and the Plex app fully updated. Previously, with my iPad M1, I never had this issue.
I’m open to any solutions if they exist.
I initially had Infuse connected to Plex, but I deleted that setup and switched to using a direct SMB connection. I didn’t encounter any issues while watching a 4-hour movie. However, when I watched a second movie, alternating between the Plex app and Infuse connected to Plex, I experienced several freezes: the screen would go black while the audio continued playing. At that point, I couldn’t do anything else, and I had to force restart my iPad (quickly pressing the volume up button, then the volume down button, followed by holding down the main button) until the Apple logo appeared on the startup screen.
