i would appreciate it very much if plex would work completely offline in case your services are down again.
So that you can at least view your existing content on your local network.
Today’s outage has shown us that this is unfortunately not as I and many others probably suspected.
I concur with the above. Surely if Plex’s API isn’t reachable it should still be able to timeout then continue to work (including discovering new content) in an offline mode. Wasn’t aware that I needed a connection to Plex to do seemingly offline tasks. I can only hope that servers set up to be isolated LAN-only boxes don’t also require access to the hosted API to add new content too.
This feature is a must for us home users who do not need to stream outside our network.
Yup, but we will probably get some other integration with another payed service before this happens.
