If plex.tv is having issues, it can render a local server unusable (or just slow). Disabling the internet entirely resolves the issue and the local server is usable again.
Ideally, when accessing a local server everything should appear instantly regardless of plex.tv’s status. Anything that depends on data from there would show up when it’s available instead of hanging everything in the meantime.
Afaict, the main source of slowness is just checking if there’s a new version available, which isn’t worth hanging the entire front page for.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
