I am using the beta channel, Version 1.17.0.1709. I have been using since August, 2019 an XML file for my DVR setup. It has been working fine, but recently (not sure when) it stopped updating the guide in the overnight maintenance cycle. The problem is resolved once I run a manual guide refresh through PLEX settings. This has happened intermittently over the last 2 years, no matter what guide I have configured. It seems fixed for a while, but then with a new beta release it breaks again. I realize this with using the beta channel for updates, but I thought you should know that it keeps breaking.
This regression has been reported to the devs, thank for posting about it.
I posted something about this last night as well. I posted a line from the logs that seems to show it is putting and extra slash in front of the file name when looking for it. The manual refresh works fine.
In my case, the file is c:\epg123\output\epg123.xmltv.
In the log I see /C:/epg123/output/epg123.xmltv (understand that slashes are opposite for programming language syntax)

Bill, this is extremely helpful and validating. Which log(s)s do I look at to find the Error and the Manual Refresh?
Additional information from my logs indicates same finding that Bill had. Looks like the code can’t pick up a creation date because the specification for the location of the XML file is incorrectly represented.
I stopped and restarted the PLEX Server to capture the following information:
For me, my XML file is located:
C:/epg/fldcaepg/tv_grab_file.xmltv
Right after I started PLEX Server, I got this error:

After I started a manual refresh of PLEX:

I see you already found it, but just so all is clear:
Go to troubleshooting in the system settings and download logs.
In the zip file downloaded, the epg entries are in the Plex Media Server logs.

Updated to 1.17.0.1841 and the XML does auto process again. Thank you all.
