I have 6 directories in the media folder - Movies, TV Series, Marvel Universe, Music, animation and home video - today Plex create a folde in Plex Movies and every, TV series, Movie and Marvel Universe in that folder showing up and wanted me to pin it to the side bar. How do I get everything back as it was.
Sounds like you mixed up the folders assigned to your different libraries.
If your folders are organized like this:
Media
Movies
TV Series
Marvel Universe
Music
Animation
Home video
Make sure the different libraries point only to their respective top-level library folder (e.g. /Media/Movies/), not the Media folder.
Thank you for your replay. As you can see I have everything in separate directories on the Hard disk drive but within plex library it has created an identical drive with the same files in it. Orginally it had TV series as well but for some reason they are gone and all in the right folder except the movies – there are duplicated. And its been running the scan for hours now – just updating all of the movies in the rogue folder.
Plex doesn’t automatically create libraries, nor does it automatically fill out a library source by selecting things for you. Either you did this, or someone else who has access to your account. Did you tell anyone else your account info?
Go to Settings → Manage → Libraries. This lists the libraries defined on your server.
Do you see two entries for Movies?
If so, check the folders added to each entry (mouse over the library name, then choose Edit Library → Add Folders).
Seems like one is configured to scan your entire media library, not just Movies. If so, delete it.
