Plex hasn’t recorded anything for the last couple days

Plex hasn’t recorded anything for the last couple days and I don’t have any error messages or anything that tells me why it didn’t record as scheduled. Is there something I am missing or do I need to crawl through the log files? Thanks for your help.

The plex server log will tell you what it did at the end of the record.

Where you able to locate the issue? What does the recording schedule block look like for the show? Blue with no play button or red with yellow error triangle?

Without more information one thing that I would look at is whether you set your recordings up for “New Airings Only” or “New and Repeat Airings” This is based upon if the EPG has an episode listed as New or not. So if you have it set to record New only and an episode isn’t listed as New it wouldn’t record. I’ve got to the point that I always use New and Repeat for all my recordings. If the episode already exists in Plex it won’t record a duplicate (mostly).

It also could be that the episodes are recording but then being deleted. Edit the Show card in your library (go to library, find show, click pencil on it’s card, select Advanced) and see if anything is set to prune episodes.

Check the “Keep” option. That option is based upon the Episodes ORIGINAL airing date, not the recording date.

Those are two situations that have created the “my dvr isn’t recording” appearance in the past.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the suggestions. The problem was that the turner couldn’t tune to any channel and timed out when trying to watch any live tv channel. It appears to be a software issue because I was able to test the tuner outside of plex and watch tv. I restarted my plex server by quiting the app and launching the media server again. I was able to see live tv again and resume recording my scheduled programs. Just a suggestion but if plex fails to record a program, it should say something. If I had gotten the tuner timeout message after the first show failed I would have started troubleshooting. Still love the product!!! Thanks everyone for all their hard word and continuing to improve the product!!! I appreciate everyone’s help.
