Guys,
Delighted to discover Plex on my Playstation 4 yesterday, for once I was behind the blog and excitedly headed off to the blog to check the news.
Registration was a breeze and I was quickly up and running. However I have a question about registration and possibly an issue. I am not any sort of expert on how Playstation 4 Apps hang together and am shamelessly applying the system concepts here but please bear with me and correct me at the end:
- I logged into my PS4 profile which is PIN protected
- I fired up Plex for the first time
- I registered the PIN provided under my PlexPass account
- I am shown top right as the signed in user and can access all my content - so far so good
- I then switched to my 10 year old Sons profile (no pin)
- I fire up plea from his account and can see the same Plex profile with all the content that I don't want him to see
Now I understand that Plex Home is not in this release - I can sort of live with that. However it would seem that the registration of the PIN is a system wide setting rather than being specific to my profile i.e., everyone uses the same registration regardless of their PS profile. What I was hoping for was that when accessing my son's profile I would be presented with a new PIN code upon firing up Plex with the registration I had already done being specific to my Profile.
Does that make sense?
Is there a way for the PIN registration to be applied to my Sons account rather than my Plexpass account? The reasoning here is that the PS4 is a shared resource that he frequently uses unsupervised and I do not want Plex on there to have unrestricted access to all content.
