I know it works because I have my own test user that is a separate plex account, that is in my home.
Are you sure you added them under Plex Home and not just as a friend? Please try again. If it doesn’t work, PM me the email address for that account and I can check what is going on.
Ok I did not know that there is a difference between shared users and home users so far but actually I used that “Invite Home User” button. I will retry then.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but that was one of the benefits of the Home feature. It wasn’t just for the user picker.
I see, it totally makes sense then. A hint in the articles about unlocking the player may be a good idea. I was just reading that (https://support.plex.tv/articles/203868088-unlocking-or-activating-plex-for-android/) and thought this is about all accounts.

Members of a Plex Home
If your Plex account is a member of a Plex Home, that will also unlock the Plex for Android app for you, while you remain in the Plex Home. To do so, simply sign in to the app using your Plex account.
Your confusion probably is due to there are 2 kinds of HOME users.
- managed users (they are sub profiles of the admin user, do not have their own account, uses admin login)
- normal plex users with their own plex account that are invited to your HOME
then there is the regular shared user that is not invited to your home and needs their own unlock/plex pass.
so 3 kinds of users (plus the admin)

Again the same Problem. I have invited a Home User but he was added as Friend. I have definetely sent invitation as Home User. Could anybody help?
That is actually quiet funny but also annoying. When we talked about this I thought I am simply stupid. But seems to be a bug or so…
Did your friend accept the invitation to join Plex Home? If this is a new friend, they would have received 2 emails. 1 for the sharing and a second to join Plex Home. If they only accepted the sharing one, this could happen.
If that is the case, your friend should see something like this when using Plex Web and going to Users and Settings. Have them accept the Home Invite from here or find that previous email and accept from there.
Hmm yeah he just noticed the first Mail. However using the tablet app he was not even able to accept home invitation in the app. He accepted via browser now.
Yes, but why is it not possible to accept home invitation directly in the app but only in email or browser?
