Plex Home Theatre "Unable to Play Media" message appears but file still plays

Server Version#:4.12.3
Player Version#:?
Mac Mojave 10.14.6
Plex.log (168.3 KB)
This is my first post so apologies if I do not give all the right information. I have a Plex pass but moistly watch movies I have stored on my own hard drive (8TB) attached by cable to my Mac Mini which hold the Plex Media Server and I watch via HDMI on a TV screen. On newer move files I often (but not always) get the message:
Unable to Play Media: Please Check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted.
But usually within a few seconds the message disappears and the movie plays. I also get the same message with trailers which I try to watch. They thumbnails of the trailer appears but when I select a trailer, it shows the same message and does not play.
I do not know much about how to adjust all the settings correctly so would really appreciate some guidance.
Thank you in advance.

Switch to Plex For Windows/Mac:

Or, if you like TV View Mode/10 foot remote - Plex Media Player:

Newest Version always at the BOTTOM of that thread.

That should take care of your playback issues (we hope).

Thank you! I have downloaded Plex for Mac and Plex Media Player and the latter, with a bit of practice seems to suit best. Really appreciate the help.

Great.

Some settings (the juicy ones) are only available while in TV View.
I think you’ll be pleased with the upgrade.
