Plex HTPC feedback

It’s an interesting feature request. Our goal is feature parity with PMP. There are no plans to add pagination at this time.

That was absolutely a typo. :grimacing: Thanks for flagging!

Set it to 3 seconds and it now works with it being enabled. Thanks for your help.

When playing DTS or DTS-HD these are transcoded to 2.0. I would have thought these would be transcoded to 5.1 AC3?

I have my audio device selected as my HDMI TV and pass through compatibility is correct to my output (Sonos ARC).

Any suggestions to force transcode audio to 5.1 AC3 for DTS?

It’s a feature supported in the UI, we’ll make sure it’s available.

@Jibidibo: following up, there is no “resume/start over” prompt, it just always resumes when playing. On the preplay / details page there should be a Play from Start button next to the Resume button.

No specific suggestions but wanted to confirm if you’ve set your Audio Channels to the channel number supported by your speaker setup.

This is more of a general “annoyance” than a HTPC spesific issue, but I hate how turning off autoplay doesn’t actually turn off autoplay completely. Even with autoplay off short videos (5 minutes or less, I think) will still autoplay and I hate it. :upside_down_face:

I wish it could be completely turned off.

5 minutes it is…

But as you said… that’s got nothing to do with the htpc client so probably better to have a separate thread for it.

Hi.
I have been trying to get Plex HTPC to read ICC profiles via mpv.conf but im finding these errors in the log:

Apr 06, 2021 13:07:16.782 [16100] DEBUG - [MPVEngine/mpv] cplayer: Reading config file C:/Users/greg/AppData/Local/Plex HTPC/mpv.conf

I also tried the “auto” setting but that resulted in mostly the same error.

The mpv.io manual states: “Needs LittleCMS 2 support compiled in.” Maybe that is what is missing?

Hi Matt, yes this is all correct. I have HDMI. 7.1. And only the Dolby formats selected. This is all correct for the Sonos Arc. Dolby True HD for example works perfectly. But when I play DTs is transcodes to stereo not 5.1

I have some issues with HDMI CEC, is there like plexmediaplayer.conf a similar configuration file to set HDMI port for the HTPC ?

The player controls are much better now that the colour gradient has changed and that it is a slim version when skipping forward.

Still having an issue with the windows volume indicator not displaying over the top of the plex app in full screen mode.

I have plex set to “never” be on top, I also notice if I hit the windows key and then go back to plex it’s like plex has to refresh itself when I go to hit a key. (Goes black and then reloads. Very quickly though)

I turned on refresh rate changing and noticed that even when I click on a show there was a big delay to get to the pre-play screen (even before the show starts playing. And then the same when backing out of the actual video and then again to get back to the main menu. I turned off the refresh rate changing altogether and everything is fine. Guess I don’t have use for the feature anyway but thought I’d raise it incase it was a glitch?

How can i change renderer , i have AMD videocard and it performs horribly because of of WEBGL

Same here. I am on OSX 11.2.1. I even waited for a few releases to see if it was a bug. If I try to click around I can hear the navigation sounds.

Currently no, but the CEC library is newer such that shouldn’t require this override anymore.

Can i play offline content? is the option to download active if a have plex pass?

at least no download support for now.

Well fact is in the scenario with an AVR and Intel NUC it isn’t working here. I need to start first kodi, because there is an manual override for the HDMI port in there, after leaving I can start plex HTPC and use CEC in there…

TV clients generally do not support downloading, however, Plex for Mac/Windows should offer you what you want if you want offline usage

My god, so many problems, I’m forced to switch back. This is unusable.
Running on a Mac Ive encountered the following problems.
-after episode is done it either does not continue or return to any menu, just black screen.
-after episode finished it does not update the progress status to watched.
-unable to quit the application. I need to go into activity monitor to force quit the application.
-after episode finish and I only see black screen and 80% progress bar I can not “H” to go to home. I can not get out of the screen at all.

I’ll wait a couple of months and hope the bugs are fixed by then.
