Cheers - I’ve just tried it and whilst it toggles between Window and Full Screen, like ‘\’ does, I still have the application bar and status bar present
Perhaps I will try re-installing like @evanars1 did.
Uninstalled, deleted the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex HTPC
directory and re-installed, and now full screen is working here as well
Update: I’ve just noticed that Keep Plex on Top of Windows
is set to Never
after re-installing.
If I change it back to Always
, like I had here, before entering full screen mode then the status bar and application bar are present and the 5 pixel gap come back when in full screen mode.
Like I didn’t try that…
Glad it worked for you too!
I will test bit perfect audio, mainly for CD rips. I will post back results. The “fling” feature between setups is working very well so far with Plex HTPC.
I can’t believe I missed this release!! I can’t wait to get home and try it, thank you Plex team!
Would any other Plex HTPC user be willing to test this for me to make sure it’s not just an issue with my setup? Thanks
Is there a post somewhere that updates the download link to the latest version? Thanks
There is the general Plex for HTPC announcement thread that details each release and there is also the Introducing Plex for HTPC thread which appears to be updated with the latest links on each release at present.
I am testing on my older laptop, 7th gen intel i7 w/Nvidia MX940 plugged into Denon x2700 AVR and Sony 4k TV.
files are on local network. video is not super smooth and audio/video do not sync well. 1080p files, some with DTS-HD audio.
I have passthrough enabled for everything and hardware encoding, exclusive audio, etc. I have also told windows to use the Nvidia graphics and not the Intel HD630.
DTS-HD shows up as Multi-channel audio
more or less the same issues with Plex for Windows, except DTS lights up on Denon.
playing through the network with MPC/LAV works well, no issues.
I’ll build a new HTPC if I can ever buy a motherboard!
I’ve had this same problem.
F11 works for me to trigger fullscreen but the app will un-fullscreen itself on focus changes from my AVR which is annoying.
Have now tested on 12 UHD \ Blu-ray movies and agree it is better then it was, still needs much work on the remote control interactions like many have mentioned, and the option for high contrast UI like Roku or something better then the current.
But for me unless the video processing gets alot better, or allows for external player, then it is just not a good option at all for the home theater room, and to use it over native tv apps or streaming device in common rooms just doesn’t make much sense at this point in time.
hope to see the app get better, looking to see if the mods can share possible options on improving the video processing that make sense for a home theater.
How do I go about doing this on Mac? When I press the option key, it does nothing and there are still the black bars on the top. How do I edit this manually for no black bars? @djcath14
Click ⌘
+⌃
+F
(command + control + F
) to switch between full/windowed screen on macOS.
Thanks but that’s not what I was asking. I was wondering how to go in “true fullscreen” without having the black bars at the top?
Are you talking about changing the zoom / aspect ratio of your video?
Try clicking Z
during playback. That should cycle through the available zoom/aspect ratio options.
No I’m talking about there are big, intrusive, black bars at the top and bottom of the screen… on PMP it doesn’t do that.
As explained elsewhere in this thread, the UI is rendered at a 16:9 aspect ratio. Video playback and the screensaver are not limited to this aspect ratio though. Since you were talking earlier about a Mac, I presume this is one of Apple’s laptops which tends to come with a display that is in a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Any thoughts on the fullscreen problems people are having?
