Any news on the Linux release please ?
Thanks!
We are waiting on the store assets to populate the store pages.
Thanks for the reply, sorry I don’t understand though! Store assets & pages ?
i never tried plex htpc but planning to do it on my steam deck on windows and linux. is it steam deck ready?
For the snap store page. For example this in the one for the Plex Media Server: Install plexmediaserver on Linux | Snap Store
I don’t think anyone can answer that question as there’s not enough info about the steamdeck to say.
Ok I see, sounds like it’s ready then
Version 1.10.0 has been released for Plex HTPC for Windows and Plex HTPC for Mac previews.
Plex HTPC for Windows (Windows 10 or later, 64 bit only)
Plex HTPC for macOS (macOS 10.13 or later, 64 bit only)

FIXED:
Good to see another update come through for this project - appreciate it.
Yes I am too. I’m trying to figure out a decent mov.conf setting for this. If I transcode down to the next highest quality setting, the brightness is good, so there’s a temporary workaround I guess.
Thanks Plex staff for releasing version 1.10.0 with a lot of fixes !
I have a small feature request and hope you can help me:
I would love to see the ratings score directly from the Home page.
When browsing movies from the Home page, we currently see following information in the top preview pane: Title and on the second row we see Year, Duration, Genre and Content rating (but no Ratings):

To see the ratings, we have to click on the movie.
I would love to see the IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes ratings (instead of the Content Rating) when scrolling through the movies on the Home Page without having to click on the movie for more information.
Below is a “photoshopped” suggestion where the IMDb rating is visible directly from the Home Page:

I hope you guys also think adding the ratings in the Home view is a good suggestion.
Thanks again Plex team for your efforts developing Plex HTPC.
I love it
It updated to the last version and now everytime I finish an episode of a show, when I start the next one I have a blue screen for like 1-2 sec and Plex HTPC crash.
I then restart the app and the episode starts correctly.
Anyway I can give you logs or anything to help fix that?
PS: Is there a way to disable auto updates? An HTPC application it’s the last kind of app i want to be able to autoupdate and not been able to revert to a previous version!
read the first post in this thread
Amazing, thank you very much, searched in google and in the forum but didn’t find!
Have had no option but to update to v 1.10 and both are broken on 2 WIN10 machines
THe first install I saw was mid week when I did a fresh WIN10 install on a familly members machine and had to resort to PMP . Now tonight my Plex HTPC has done exactly the same.
Why can we not have the option to prevent Auto update - this app is now borked for me entirely
Edit: in my fit of peak I didnt read above and was basing my experience on the mid week failed update. Will now revert to earlier working version - hopefully
Not sure why some users are having issues as I have set up Plex HTPV on 5 Windows machines (4 Win 10 and 1 Win 11) and all are on latest version as of today and no reported issues.
Edit - please note I don’t use refresh rate switching as I find it buggy and all of the displays I set it up on can handle refresh rate with minimal issue.
I’m running the latest public beta for PMS.
Hi, is it possible to passthough HD audio, when running the htpc on Mac?
Edit, sadly not, found this note
Note : Due to platform limitations, passthrough of DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby TrueHD, audio is limited to Windows and Linux only.
@gbooker02
hi do you have a rough timeframe for the stutter fix in plex htpc, I know things can change but just wanted a general idea if this may be weeks or months …etc
also within plex htpc may i ask what do each of the quality settings relate to in terms of the upscaling algorithm used
and finally I would kindly like to pass on piece of feedback for your consideration, would it be possible on key presses while video is playing to not overlay the playback status and controls when they are used. so as when a video is paused with space or arrow keys are used to fast forward or rewind no overlay but just show controls on mouse interaction.
to my mind it would give a cleaner experience
I’d prefer to see the overlay kept as is.
HTPC is designed for remote control use.
I notice Home view still has this bug in latest version 1.10.0:
Home view does not show if a movie or tv show has been added to the Plex libraries - unless shutting down and restarting Plex HTPC. This does not happen in Plex web or Plex PMP.
It’s not the end of the world but annoying.
Am I perhaps the only one with this issue?
Whilst I have installed Plex HTPC on one of my machines I don’t use it as my daily runner for my TVs - however I have the same issue with the Samsung Tizen app and XBox app - which I believe share a lot of their codebase with Plex HTPC.
