Hi, I am trialling an Intel i5 12th generation NUC to see if I want to keep it and replace the Nvidia Shield Pro.
Many teething problems, but I might be getting somewhere!
One issue I can’t overcome is that it plays 5.1 AAC or HE-AAC files as 2.0. The server is reporting that no transcoding is going on. The files play correctly in Kodi on the NUC, (my AVR reports 5.1 PCM) so it isn’t a hardware limitation.
Are there any hidden settings that I can change to fix this, or can I flag it to the developers as a potential future fix?
Which operating system is used?
If it’s Windows, is the audio output configured as a surround speaker setup?
Is the audio configuration of Plex HTPC also set to 5.1 channels?
How is the audio configured in Plex HTPC in general?
Brilliant - thankyou!
I had left the Audio Channels setting in Plex as ‘Auto’ I switched it to 5.1 and all is now working.
The OS is Windows 10.
I am having problems with resolution switching though, I did start a separate thread. Switching between HD and 4K works well, but when I playback any lower resolution files it all goes very messy.
