Plex ignores embedded mp3 album art

All my mp3 files have the album art embedded in the tag, however plex in most cases ignores that and pulls in other, mostly incorrect or generic, album art. How do I force Plex to use the embedded album art?

Thank you, but I do have Local Media Assets checkmarked and on top of the list for both albums and artists (second on the list is Personal Media). Also, if the album art is already embedded in the mp3 file, why is it even relevant that Plex has to have a match for the album? Why won’t Plex just grab the album art from the mp3 tag and ignore any online sources?

Thank you. Understood, but I think this behavior of Plex (at least for music files) is sub-par, imho! There should be an option for users to force Plex to prioritize only local media assets (i.e. the embedded mp3 album art) and ignore any other agents. I realize this is a “first world problem”…BUT I am a real stickler when it comes to my music collection and it took me a long time to meticulously tag my thousands of mp3 files and it is extremely frustrating when I see them displayed with arbitrary and incorrect art work. I hope this gets addressed in a future update!!!

Hi! I’m expecting the same issue. The embedded album art is ignored. I can’t put “Local Media Assets” on top of the Premium Music list. But this may be another problem. I opened a new topic here:
