Plex ignores skipped tracks in albums

I have albums where some tracks are “missing” (deliberately)

So instead of something like:
/Music
/An Artist
/An Album
01 - Track 1.mp3
02 - Track 2.mp3
03 - Track 3.mp3

I have:
/Music
/An Artist
/An Album
01 - Track 1.mp3
03 - Track 3.mp3

It is matching the correct album (An Album by An Artist, with 3 tracks), but “03 - Track 3.mp3” becomes the second track, called “Track 2”.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

Update: I have checked the metadata of the files, and they are correct (“03 - Track 3.mp3” has 3 as the track number)
