Plex Installation via container hosted thru proxmox

Following a popular YouTube channel i am unable to launch plex via browser to configure library in server or anything related to plex server web admin.

For my install what happens is post initiating call to http://192.168.1.31:32400 using chrome it launches plex splash screen thats its loading. After few seconds i get this message.

“This application is at 192.168.1.31 and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access.”

Im not sure if this is a pfsense issue that manges all wan dns requests through cloudflare.

Also my pfsense setup is running on its own custom appliance which manages wan an lan networks for my home. I’m a novice with this software and was setup following a tutorial for learning fun.

Please shed some light as to what is causing plex sever to not start properly?

Thanks

This usually happens the first time you open a new server on your LAN or you’re using Private browsing / Incognito mode.

This is Plex/web letting you know it sees credentials (or lack of) which it knows.
If you look at the IP address, you’ll see it’s Your server.

The “not hosted by Plex” makes sense because it’s Your server and not one of Plex’s streaming servers – even if a little confusing

You can safely ignore it if the IP is indeed your IP.

Pfsense won’t put up messages like this. The Pfsense has a much different page style (I use Pfsense here)

FYI: I have a dedicated NUC computer running PfSense Plus . It handles the ISP and LAN side beautifully. I am so spoiled by it and how well it protects, I can’t imagine how I got by before without it :sunglasses:

Hi thanks for your response,
I have tried going past that message few times and the issue is plex wont acknowledge i have a server. Thus not able to add content to libraries or configure plex server settings such as name, transcoding etc. Instead it redirects to plext.tv dashboard and when navigating to configuration i am not able to find my server.

Any idea why its behaving like this?
Is there a place i can check the log in linux that can tell me whats broken?

Thanks again
