Plex internal home audio

Hey All,

Love Plex and it’s great being a paying partner so I can see it develop. It is on all my endpoints, and I use PlexMediaServer on a PI5 connected to a 5 bay ZFS formatted aray for my media.

I have a question though. I have a lovely Audio Technica record deck, with analog output to my amp. It also does USB out too, If I used a PI to connect to the deck, using Linux, can I create an input on the PLEX server to stream the live record to all end points? Preferably encoded in FLAC?

So the stream is maybe always running if necess, but when I fling an album on I can pick it up as a live stream from the network at any endpoimt?

Has anyone done this? Any ideas on what software to look at on the ‘host’ PI streaming to the internal PLEX server?

Cheers for ideas,

Bon.

No, Plex has no support for live inputs.

What about using TVHeadend and adding that as a new TV source?

A TV tuner is no audio-only source.
Plus, Plexamp doesn’t handle video in general.

You can feed it a static input image file.

I’m quite aware of PlexAmp, I use it when I’m driving. However I’m not thinking about using PlexAmp when driving, it gets a bit tedious driving back to where I started to turn the bloody album over,

I’m asking if anyone has any ideas how in can stream “Internally” my record deck to the PLEX end points. Clue is in the subject title Otto.

And I answered that already. You can’t.

Ok, thanks for the support, I’ll sort it and let you know.

Jeez, I paid for lifetime and this is what you get.

I think you could accomplish what you’re trying to do with snapcast software quite easily, i’m not sure why you’d need Plex in the mix.

You are mad one function is not there that was never advertised to be there in the first place?
