Plex iOS APP Custom Home Screen Keeps Resetting

Server Version#: 1.21.4.4079
Player Version#: 7.13
I make 1 and only 1 change to the Home Screen, and that is to add “Recently Added TV” above “Recently Added Movies” and sure as ■■■■, every night when I open Plex on my iPad, “Recently Added TV” is missing and I have to go locate it, click the ellipses, click add to Home Screen, then go to the Home Screen, click the ellipses, edit Home Screen, drag “Recently Added TV” from the bottom of the list to above “Recently Added Movies” where it will stay until the following night when I go to watch something again, and whaddayaknow, ground hog day…

Tested on iPhone as well, same problem.

Why did you even remove “Recently Added TV” from the Home Screen? That seems silly at best. But why wouldn’t you have fixed this issue after all these months?

It seems plex may be trying to be too many things to too many people and losing sight of their initial success and simplicity that everyone loved so much?

Well, it’s completely ruined now. I can’t change a ****** thing on mine.

Plex had announced some weeks ago that the old “custom home screen” will be removed. That happened yesterday.
You can configure what’s showing on your home screen (as well as on the library recommendation tabs) using a new configuration in your server settings. Those settings will also be applied in the clients.

Short version:

  • which libraries are pinned determines of which libraries content/hubs will be displayed on the home screen
  • the recommendation configuration (see link below) determines which specific hubs will be displayed for those libraries.

Wait so I can’t do a per user variation, a have to see plex crap advertised services?

What genius came up with this? Guessing they don’t have kids and think everyone likes the plex integration with the streaming?

Is there anyway I can set so that my 5 year old doesn’t see the slasher content and I don’t have to see the kids stuff?

Edit:
OK found the pinned setting, this is really a chaotic way of doing it, and exactly what’s meant by different categories aren’t clear but I admit I see the benefit long term if they fix it a bit.

Edit2 :
Can’t remove What’s on part on mobile and one of my libs aren’t showing on homescreen no matter what I do on mobile but shows up on pc

Edit3:
Recently added is bugged af and setting this up is a pain to say the least

You can completely disable those in your account settings. If your kids have their own managed user account you can also disable it for them (optionally while keeping them for yourself).
