When the “select player” button is tapped, Plex HTPC shows up in the list, but it is grayed out / not tappable. This used to work 100% perfectly fine 2 weeks ago. Not sure if this is being caused by a bad update on the HTPC end, or the iOS end.
Again, not only is it frustrating that this used to work, and no changes have been made to my configuration. Also why would the entry show up in the list, but not allow itself to be selected? I have never witnessed this behavior before.
Double check that both devices are on the same network subnet. You cannot fling content across subnets. The devices will still appear as long as your server can see them.
Edit - Just found this is a bug. Fix is being worked on.
I have the exact problem. The issue it appears is that PLEX for whatever reason has decided to “Remove legacy synced media items” in update 8.7
I have 2 x iPads on my network, one worked the other didn’t. One of the iPads was running Version 8.6, that one worked fine, the other updated itself to 8.7.1 and is now greyed out.
To prove my theory, I updated the other iPad to 8.7.1 and it too is now greyed out.
Thanks PLEX…now I have to figure out if I can downgrade on the iPad, but not hopeful.
Is it a bug?..looks like you purposely removed legacy syncing the 8.7 update. 8.6 was working fine.
That’s 2 different things. The devices being grayed out is a bug.
