Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#: 8.26

The plex iOS app is showing 0% progress although the server shows that transcoding is occurring.

After transcoding is complete (as verified in server status), the iOS app continues to show 0% progress. Oddly, the hamburger menu shows “Downloading 3 of 4” (which is wrong. there are only two downloads in the queue). You can see the two titles on the right-hand portion of the screen.

Did the iOS app ever seem to disconnect from server? Do you haveThere should also be a “Media Downloaded by…” in the activity menu in web app for the download part when it is actually downloading and that is what the percentage should show.

Plex

I just noticed your iPhone is on cellular. Do you have “Use Cellular Data” enabled in the download settings?

Well…I think I’m seeing better behavior today…

  1. I never noticed a disconnect message or anything like that
  2. Are you saying that it’s normal for the download progress to stay at 0% until transcoding is complete?
  3. I actually checked my wifi a few times when I was having issues, but when I went to iphone settings it showed wifi connected with an ipaddress assigned.
  • I did not have use cellular data turned on in the settings. Might be a nice enhancement to show a popup or notification that download will resume later on wifi if that’s the reason?
  • Although my wifi showed connected in settings, I agree it’s weird that the menu bar showed 5G, so perhaps this was the issue…

Today I’m seeing behavior similar to what you described. The download percent stays at 0% until the transcoding is > 50% ish. Once the “Media download by golfguy0082” shows up, then I see progress update on the iPhone. I do with the iPhone would display “some” type of message to indicate that transcoding is happening.

Success

I was able to download a movie today, so I guess we’ll chalk this one up to weird wifi iphone issue. Thank you for the assistance. This may be closed.
