after trans-coding finished on the server ipad and iphone just spinning “downloading” but no kB being transferred. tried on 4 different iOS devices… what do i do ?
Are you actually using the new download feature or the old “mobile sync”?
With “downloads”, Plex shouldn’t be waiting for preparation/transcoding to finish before starting to download.
i believe its download, not sync
I have latest plex server and latest plex app (reinstalled). on iPad, i hold the show and choose “download” … in “downloads” section on the iPad it shows “downloading” with 0kb transferred. Meanwhile on the server in Activity, it saying “transcoding media”
after few min after server is done with “transcoding” iPad still spinning, saying its “downloading” but no data being transferred. so when i go to “downloads” section on the iPad, i see the show “dowloading” and can’t watch it
You should be able to verify this in the Plex app on your phone/tablet:
Settings > Downloads > Enable new downloads should be checked/enabled
yes … its checked “enable new downloads”
DNS rebinding is the likely cause.
Already confirmed by Plex and awaiting a fix.
If your router has access to a setting for DNS rebinding you have a chance.
If you’re on a IP assigned router you are out of luck until the fix arrives.
is this a new bug? I’ve previously had no issue with the new downloads feature, but recently have been unable to transfer any new content onto my iPad.
