I am running into an issue when I try to watch any video remotely, Plex will refuse to transcode and default to the original quality even when I select a different quality. Yes, my server is powerful. I thought maybe something was wrong with my Plex server, so I reinstalled Plex. Running into the same issue.
I am currently at work, so I decided to try and play the exact same video on my iPhone at 8 Mbps 1080p. Plex is playing the video with no issues and transcoding perfectly.
If I play the same video and select the exact same quality on my iPad. Plex keeps defaulting back to its original quality and does not accept the 8 Mbps 1080p quality setting. As a result, it tries to stream the original quality but obviously, there is not enough bandwidth.
I deleted the iPad app and reinstalled but the issue continues. It seems to be an app issue, not a server issue.
Is anyone else running into this?
