Plex is down again?!

People are starting to complain over on reddit and I’m having issues to login through the app. This afternoon some of my users were seeing my server as offline while I was able to access it from the outside without issue.
What gives? Having issues again?

I am having the same issue also. “Media not found” and I can play the videos not within plex perfectly fine.

Having issues also. The Plex status says everything is operational.

Mine is down as well…

This is the problem with the reliance of Plex.tv as a gateway for all Plex services local and remote. As ‘easy’ as it can make things, it is a double-edged sword…

Yep, im down too… get “media not found” on everything

If it weren’t for the fact that Emby’s apps were basically garbage I would have long transitioned away from Plex for this singular reason.

Same - “Media not found”! The entire reason I’m not with the streaming providers to is separate my media from the internet. It now seems that Plex has connected us, so when they fail, we fail. OK, Plex - put it back, so I don’t need your connections. Thank you!!!

I just downgraded to the previous version and it’s now working fine for me. QNAP T451+ running Version 1.19.4.2902.

Coincidence. Things seem to be working again.

Yeah…same thing…2nd or 3rd time within the past month. This is poor design, as locally you can’t access your media. Wish there was an alternative that met my needs…

They do seem to be failing ALOT lately. And it seems that their reporting system states that there are no outages/issues…seems like they need a lot of help at the moment.

What bothers me the most is the complete silence they make every time the service is down. I bet it is a top-down order. I like the app, I like helping people here, but after more than a year paying, I’m switching to the free version while I search for alternatives.

Yeah that’s what bothers me. I made it a point of creating a post in their forums every time there’s a problem on their Auth servers. It’s the second this month I believe. I didn’t get an official reply on the other, or on this one.
Then I get blog posts where nothing is acknowledged. What the heck. At least a “ahum, yeah we don’t know, we’re working on it” would be something.

Still no reply from a plex employee. Tis fine, we have time.

Still nothing.
Can we please get an oficial statement at the recent outages?!

Employees are all over this place:

I’m satisfied with ‘■■■■ Happens’.
■■■■ is always happening to me.
Plex ain’t no different…

Tempered by the fact that no outage yet has stopped me from watching whatever I want locally on one of my ‘Devices’…

Server/Settings/Network
Preferred - not Required or Disabled

Every Client:
Fallback to insecure on local network only

That means - when the internet goes out (frequently) or Plex goes down (infrequently) I still go on watching.

Plexweb is dead - but I don’t watch stuff with Plexweb.

That very odd as at Worlds end it’s working as intended. If I’am not careful Antarctica will swallow my Plex ship and all will be gone… :upside_down_face:

Try changing your DNS to a public one like 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1
