So Smiling friends is having an issue autoplaying the next episode after one ends. Also just picking an episode, it won’t play. It says it’s playing but its just 1 frame on the screen, you have to scrub back to the beginning of the show and press play to make it actually play.
My theories:
The show is 10 minutes long and plex is having an issue with that.
The show has a very short intro
Or a combo of the two.
It’s very disruptive and would love to find a solution!
What do you mean by “it’s having an issue autoplaying”?
What exactly happens when you reach the end of the first episode and the post-play screen shows up?
What’s your configuration for the Player Experience (specifically Auto Play being enabled/disabled and Auto Play Countdown Time)?
And last not least… with which Plex app/client are you experiencing this (platform and version)?
When I am playing the show, it won’t play the next episode without manual intervention.
it will countdown like normal and when it goes to play the next episode a random frame will be on the screen and the scrub bar shows the show playing but nothing is happening. You have to scrub back to the beginning and press play for it to work.
I set up a Smiling Friends test folder on my server. Once I figured out how to turn on autoplay, I tested it via PlexWeb and on my Android Phone. The files are all about 10-12 minutes. Autoplay worked on both platforms.
Have you tried autoplay on your TV with any other shows?
Have you tried playing your Smiling friends episodes on another platform? Phone, tablet, laptop, another TV, etc.
That is so odd. Seems to indicate it is something with the player on the TV. I don’t even have Plex or any other apps on my TV since it’s so “old” I guess by todays standards it is. Big ol’ plasma TV from 2009. My TiVo has it but it was always so slow & clunky that I never used it.
