Plex is ignoring files ending by "scene"

Server Version#: 1.41.4.9421
Player Version#: 4.145.0

Any video file ending by -scene is being ignored and not listed in Plex. I can see it was found and then removed in the “server.log”.

Any suggestions? Do I have to rename it all the time?

Is anywhere list of ALL ignored keywords?

Thanks!

Not as such, but there is a list of reserved keywords. Specifically, ‘-scene’ is reserved for extras of that type. Filenames ending with this decoration will be treated as such. (Episode-level extras are only supported by certain clients, the linked article shows which.)

See this article for more information.

If you need to include ‘-scene’ in a filename but don’t want Plex to consider it for matching purposes, include it in square brackets: [scene].

Somehow I do believe this is not honest explanation on actually why it is like that.

The above link leads to the offical documentation. It can’t be more honest.

I don’t think I’ve ever been accused of not being “honest” on these forums. That’s a new one.
