I have added a lot of extras from Star Trek Generation (1994) BluRay (part of the Star Trek The Picard Legacy Collection limited edition set)
In my Deleted Scenes folder I have 5 files
Deleted Scene 01 Orbital Skydiving.mkv
Deleted Scene 02 Walking the Plank.mkv
Deleted Scene 03 Christmas with the picards.,mkv
Deleted Scene 04 Alternate Ending.mkv
Deleted Scene 05 Play All.mkv
They all show up as expected except for #4 which just shows up as “Ending”
You currently cannot change that. It seems this was implemented as a shorthand solution for anime opening/ending themes… resulting any local extra with the word opening/ending (or certain abbreviations) to display the extra simply as „Opening“ or „Ending“ respectively.
Plex are aware and commented they’ll look into it (no ETA).
As for your extras… you know that by placing the files in a „Deleted Scenes“ subfolder, Plex will recognize them as deleted scenes… so you can drop that prefix from your file names, e.g.
Deleted Scenes
1. Orbital Skydiving.mkv
2. Walking the Plank.mkv
3. Christmas with the Picards.,mkv
4. Alternate Ending.mkv
5. Play All.mkv
That’ll make the extras listing a bit neater / more easy to read. [edit: there’s also no longer a need to use double-digit indices; Plex have added a natural search option, so now 9 will show before 10 (this previously required the 9 to be written ad 09)]
You’ve already covered that by placing them in a Deleted Scenes folder, haven’t you?
Are those files on a network drive? Sometimes characters can be interpreted differently if they’re written on a different system through some file sharing protocol. Does this particular issue persist if you replace/retype the <space>- section and refresh the show‘s metadata? Those can sometimes contain weird Unicode characters which might be supported by the file system / operating system on the machine where you’re currently editing them but not by the file transfer protocol / the server/NAS operating systems / file systems…
